ﱦ
Ta Ha
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
20:2
مَآ
أَنزَلْنَا
عَلَيْكَ
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
لِتَشْقَىٰٓ
ﱬ
It was not to distress you [Prophet] that We sent down the Quran to you,

20:3
إِلَّا
تَذْكِرَةًۭ
لِّمَن
يَخْشَىٰ
ﱱ
but as a reminder for those who hold God in awe,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
20:4
تَنزِيلًۭا
مِّمَّنْ
خَلَقَ
ٱلْأَرْضَ
وَٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
ٱلْعُلَى
ﱸ
a revelation from the One who created the earth and the high heaven,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
20:5
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ
عَلَى
ٱلْعَرْشِ
ٱسْتَوَىٰ
ﱽ
the Lord of Mercy, established on the throne.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
20:6
لَهُۥ
مَا
فِى
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
وَمَا
فِى
ٱلْأَرْضِ
وَمَا
بَيْنَهُمَا
وَمَا
تَحْتَ
ٱلثَّرَىٰ
ﲊ
Everything in the heavens and on earth, everything between them, everything beneath the soil, belongs to Him.

20:7
وَإِن
تَجْهَرْ
بِٱلْقَوْلِ
فَإِنَّهُۥ
يَعْلَمُ
ٱلسِّرَّ
وَأَخْفَى
ﲒ
Whatever you may say aloud, He knows what you keep secret and what is even more hidden.

20:8
ٱللَّهُ
لَآ
إِلَـٰهَ
إِلَّا
هُوَ ۖ
لَهُ
ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ
ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
ﲜ
God––there is no god but Him––the most excellent names belong to Him.

20:9
وَهَلْ
أَتَىٰكَ
حَدِيثُ
مُوسَىٰٓ
ﲡ
Has the story of Moses come to you [Prophet]?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
20:10
إِذْ
رَءَا
نَارًۭا
فَقَالَ
لِأَهْلِهِ
ٱمْكُثُوٓا۟
إِنِّىٓ
ءَانَسْتُ
نَارًۭا
لَّعَلِّىٓ
ءَاتِيكُم
مِّنْهَا
بِقَبَسٍ
أَوْ
أَجِدُ
عَلَى
ٱلنَّارِ
هُدًۭى
ﲴ
He saw a fire and said to his people, ‘Stay here––I can see a fire. Maybe I can bring you a flaming brand from it or find some guidance there.’

20:11
فَلَمَّآ
أَتَىٰهَا
نُودِىَ
يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ
ﲹ
When he came to the fire, he was summoned, ‘Moses!
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
20:12
إِنِّىٓ
أَنَا۠
رَبُّكَ
فَٱخْلَعْ
نَعْلَيْكَ ۖ
إِنَّكَ
بِٱلْوَادِ
ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ
طُوًۭى
ﳃ
I am your Lord. Take off your shoes: you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
20:13
وَأَنَا
ٱخْتَرْتُكَ
فَٱسْتَمِعْ
لِمَا
يُوحَىٰٓ
ﱆ
I have chosen you, so listen to what is being revealed.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
20:14
إِنَّنِىٓ
أَنَا
ٱللَّهُ
لَآ
إِلَـٰهَ
إِلَّآ
أَنَا۠
فَٱعْبُدْنِى
وَأَقِمِ
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
لِذِكْرِىٓ
ﱒ
I am God; there is no god but Me. So worship Me and keep up the prayer so that you remember Me.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
20:15
إِنَّ
ٱلسَّاعَةَ
ءَاتِيَةٌ
أَكَادُ
أُخْفِيهَا
لِتُجْزَىٰ
كُلُّ
نَفْسٍۭ
بِمَا
تَسْعَىٰ
ﱝ
The Hour is coming––though I choose to keep it hidden––for each soul to be rewarded for its labour.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
20:16
فَلَا
يَصُدَّنَّكَ
عَنْهَا
مَن
لَّا
يُؤْمِنُ
بِهَا
وَٱتَّبَعَ
هَوَىٰهُ
فَتَرْدَىٰ
ﱨ
Do not let anyone who does not believe in it and follows his own desires distract you from it, and so bring you to ruin.’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
20:17
وَمَا
تِلْكَ
بِيَمِينِكَ
يَـٰمُوسَىٰ
ﱭ
‘Moses, what is that in your right hand?’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
20:18
قَالَ
هِىَ
عَصَاىَ
أَتَوَكَّؤُا۟
عَلَيْهَا
وَأَهُشُّ
بِهَا
عَلَىٰ
غَنَمِى
وَلِىَ
فِيهَا
مَـَٔارِبُ
أُخْرَىٰ
ﱻ
‘It is my staff,’ he said, ‘I lean on it; restrain my sheep with it; I also have other uses for it.’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
20:19
قَالَ
أَلْقِهَا
يَـٰمُوسَىٰ
ﱿ
God said, ‘Throw it down, Moses.’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
20:20
فَأَلْقَىٰهَا
فَإِذَا
هِىَ
حَيَّةٌۭ
تَسْعَىٰ
ﲅ
He threw it down and- lo and behold!- it became a fast-moving snake.
