76:1
هَلْ
أَتَىٰ
عَلَى
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنِ
حِينٌۭ
مِّنَ
ٱلدَّهْرِ
لَمْ
يَكُن
شَيْـًۭٔا
مَّذْكُورًا
ﲶ
Was there not a period of time when man was nothing to speak of ?

76:2
إِنَّا
خَلَقْنَا
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ
مِن
نُّطْفَةٍ
أَمْشَاجٍۢ
نَّبْتَلِيهِ
فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ
سَمِيعًۢا
بَصِيرًا
ﳁ
We created man from a drop of mingled fluid to put him to the test; We gave him hearing and sight;

76:3
إِنَّا
هَدَيْنَـٰهُ
ٱلسَّبِيلَ
إِمَّا
شَاكِرًۭا
وَإِمَّا
كَفُورًا
ﳉ
We guided him to the right path, whether he was grateful or not.

76:4
إِنَّآ
أَعْتَدْنَا
لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
سَلَـٰسِلَا۟
وَأَغْلَـٰلًۭا
وَسَعِيرًا
ﳐ
We have prepared chains, iron collars, and blazing Fire for the disbelievers, but

76:5
إِنَّ
ٱلْأَبْرَارَ
يَشْرَبُونَ
مِن
كَأْسٍۢ
كَانَ
مِزَاجُهَا
كَافُورًا
ﳙ
the righteous will have a drink mixed with kafur,

76:6
عَيْنًۭا
يَشْرَبُ
بِهَا
عِبَادُ
ٱللَّهِ
يُفَجِّرُونَهَا
تَفْجِيرًۭا
ﱈ
a spring for God’s servants, which flows abundantly at their wish.

76:7
يُوفُونَ
بِٱلنَّذْرِ
وَيَخَافُونَ
يَوْمًۭا
كَانَ
شَرُّهُۥ
مُسْتَطِيرًۭا
ﱐ
They fulfil their vows; they fear a day of widespread woes;

76:8
وَيُطْعِمُونَ
ٱلطَّعَامَ
عَلَىٰ
حُبِّهِۦ
مِسْكِينًۭا
وَيَتِيمًۭا
وَأَسِيرًا
ﱘ
they give food to the poor, the orphan, and the captive, though they love it themselves,

76:9
إِنَّمَا
نُطْعِمُكُمْ
لِوَجْهِ
ٱللَّهِ
لَا
نُرِيدُ
مِنكُمْ
جَزَآءًۭ
وَلَا
شُكُورًا
ﱣ
saying, ‘We feed you for the sake of God alone: We seek neither recompense nor thanks from you.

76:10
إِنَّا
نَخَافُ
مِن
رَّبِّنَا
يَوْمًا
عَبُوسًۭا
قَمْطَرِيرًۭا
ﱫ
We fear the Day of our Lord––a woefully grim Day.’

76:11
فَوَقَىٰهُمُ
ٱللَّهُ
شَرَّ
ذَٰلِكَ
ٱلْيَوْمِ
وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ
نَضْرَةًۭ
وَسُرُورًۭا
ﱴ
So God will save them from the woes of that Day, give them radiance and gladness,

76:12
وَجَزَىٰهُم
بِمَا
صَبَرُوا۟
جَنَّةًۭ
وَحَرِيرًۭا
ﱺ
and reward them, for their steadfastness, with a Garden and silken robes.

76:13
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ
فِيهَا
عَلَى
ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ ۖ
لَا
يَرَوْنَ
فِيهَا
شَمْسًۭا
وَلَا
زَمْهَرِيرًۭا
ﲆ
They will sit on couches, feeling neither scorching heat nor biting cold,

76:14
وَدَانِيَةً
عَلَيْهِمْ
ظِلَـٰلُهَا
وَذُلِّلَتْ
قُطُوفُهَا
تَذْلِيلًۭا
ﲍ
with shady [branches] spread above them and clusters of fruit hanging close at hand.

76:15
وَيُطَافُ
عَلَيْهِم
بِـَٔانِيَةٍۢ
مِّن
فِضَّةٍۢ
وَأَكْوَابٍۢ
كَانَتْ
قَوَارِيرَا۠
ﲖ
They will be served with silver plates

76:16
قَوَارِيرَا۟
مِن
فِضَّةٍۢ
قَدَّرُوهَا
تَقْدِيرًۭا
ﲜ
and gleaming silver goblets according to their fancy,

76:17
وَيُسْقَوْنَ
فِيهَا
كَأْسًۭا
كَانَ
مِزَاجُهَا
زَنجَبِيلًا
ﲣ
and they will be given a drink infused with ginger

76:18
عَيْنًۭا
فِيهَا
تُسَمَّىٰ
سَلْسَبِيلًۭا
ﲨ
from a spring called Salsabil.

76:19
۞ وَيَطُوفُ
عَلَيْهِمْ
وِلْدَٰنٌۭ
مُّخَلَّدُونَ
إِذَا
رَأَيْتَهُمْ
حَسِبْتَهُمْ
لُؤْلُؤًۭا
مَّنثُورًۭا
ﲳ
Everlasting youths will attend them––if you could see them, you would think they were scattered pearls––

76:20
وَإِذَا
رَأَيْتَ
ثَمَّ
رَأَيْتَ
نَعِيمًۭا
وَمُلْكًۭا
كَبِيرًا
ﲻ
and if you were to look around, you would see bliss and great wealth:

76:21
عَـٰلِيَهُمْ
ثِيَابُ
سُندُسٍ
خُضْرٌۭ
وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌۭ ۖ
وَحُلُّوٓا۟
أَسَاوِرَ
مِن
فِضَّةٍۢ
وَسَقَىٰهُمْ
رَبُّهُمْ
شَرَابًۭا
طَهُورًا
ﳊ
they will wear garments of green silk and brocade; they will be adorned with silver bracelets; their Lord will give them a pure drink.

76:22
إِنَّ
هَـٰذَا
كَانَ
لَكُمْ
جَزَآءًۭ
وَكَانَ
سَعْيُكُم
مَّشْكُورًا
ﳓ
[It will be said], ‘This is your reward. Your endeavours are appreciated.’

76:23
إِنَّا
نَحْنُ
نَزَّلْنَا
عَلَيْكَ
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
تَنزِيلًۭا
ﳚ
We Ourself have sent down this Quran to you [Prophet] in gradual revelation.

76:24
فَٱصْبِرْ
لِحُكْمِ
رَبِّكَ
وَلَا
تُطِعْ
مِنْهُمْ
ءَاثِمًا
أَوْ
كَفُورًۭا
ﳤ
Await your Lord’s Judgement with patience; do not yield to any of these sinners or disbelievers;

76:25
وَٱذْكُرِ
ٱسْمَ
رَبِّكَ
بُكْرَةًۭ
وَأَصِيلًۭا
ﳪ
remember the name of your Lord at dawn and in the evening;

76:26
وَمِنَ
ٱلَّيْلِ
فَٱسْجُدْ
لَهُۥ
وَسَبِّحْهُ
لَيْلًۭا
طَوِيلًا
ﱈ
bow down before Him, and glorify Him at length by night.

76:27
إِنَّ
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
يُحِبُّونَ
ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ
وَيَذَرُونَ
وَرَآءَهُمْ
يَوْمًۭا
ثَقِيلًۭا
ﱑ
These people love the fleeting life. They put aside [all thoughts of] a Heavy Day.

76:28
نَّحْنُ
خَلَقْنَـٰهُمْ
وَشَدَدْنَآ
أَسْرَهُمْ ۖ
وَإِذَا
شِئْنَا
بَدَّلْنَآ
أَمْثَـٰلَهُمْ
تَبْدِيلًا
ﱜ
Yet We created them; We strengthened their constitution; if We please, We can replace such people completely.

76:29
إِنَّ
هَـٰذِهِۦ
تَذْكِرَةٌۭ ۖ
فَمَن
شَآءَ
ٱتَّخَذَ
إِلَىٰ
رَبِّهِۦ
سَبِيلًۭا
ﱧ
This is a reminder. Let whoever wishes, take the way to his Lord.

76:30
وَمَا
تَشَآءُونَ
إِلَّآ
أَن
يَشَآءَ
ٱللَّهُ ۚ
إِنَّ
ٱللَّهَ
كَانَ
عَلِيمًا
حَكِيمًۭا
ﱴ
But you will only wish to do so if God wills- God is all knowing, all wise-

76:31
يُدْخِلُ
مَن
يَشَآءُ
فِى
رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ
وَٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
أَعَدَّ
لَهُمْ
عَذَابًا
أَلِيمًۢا
ﲀ
He admits whoever He will into His Mercy and has prepared a painful torment for the disbelievers.
