إِذَا
ٱلشَّمْسُ
كُوِّرَتْ
ﱌ
When the sun is shrouded in darkness,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:2
وَإِذَا
ٱلنُّجُومُ
ٱنكَدَرَتْ
ﱐ
when the stars are dimmed,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:3
وَإِذَا
ٱلْجِبَالُ
سُيِّرَتْ
ﱔ
when the mountains are set in motion,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:4
وَإِذَا
ٱلْعِشَارُ
عُطِّلَتْ
ﱘ
when pregnant camels are abandoned,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:5
وَإِذَا
ٱلْوُحُوشُ
حُشِرَتْ
ﱜ
when wild beasts are herded together,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:6
وَإِذَا
ٱلْبِحَارُ
سُجِّرَتْ
ﱠ
when the seas boil over,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:7
وَإِذَا
ٱلنُّفُوسُ
زُوِّجَتْ
ﱤ
when souls are sorted into classes,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:8
وَإِذَا
ٱلْمَوْءُۥدَةُ
سُئِلَتْ
ﱨ
when the baby girl buried alive is asked
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:9
بِأَىِّ
ذَنۢبٍۢ
قُتِلَتْ
ﱬ
for what sin she was killed,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:10
وَإِذَا
ٱلصُّحُفُ
نُشِرَتْ
ﱰ
when the records of deeds are spread open,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:11
وَإِذَا
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
كُشِطَتْ
ﱴ
when the sky is stripped away,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:12
وَإِذَا
ٱلْجَحِيمُ
سُعِّرَتْ
ﱸ
when Hell is made to blaze
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:13
وَإِذَا
ٱلْجَنَّةُ
أُزْلِفَتْ
ﱼ
and Paradise brought near:
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:14
عَلِمَتْ
نَفْسٌۭ
مَّآ
أَحْضَرَتْ
ﲁ
then every soul will know what it has brought about.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:15
فَلَآ
أُقْسِمُ
بِٱلْخُنَّسِ
ﲅ
I swear by the planets
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:16
ٱلْجَوَارِ
ٱلْكُنَّسِ
ﲈ
that recede, move, and hide,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:17
وَٱلَّيْلِ
إِذَا
عَسْعَسَ
ﲌ
by the night that descends,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:18
وَٱلصُّبْحِ
إِذَا
تَنَفَّسَ
ﲐ
by the dawn that softly breathes:
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:19
إِنَّهُۥ
لَقَوْلُ
رَسُولٍۢ
كَرِيمٍۢ
ﲕ
this is the speech of a noble messenger,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:20
ذِى
قُوَّةٍ
عِندَ
ذِى
ٱلْعَرْشِ
مَكِينٍۢ
ﲜ
who possesses great strength and is held in honour by the Lord of the Throne––
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:21
مُّطَاعٍۢ
ثَمَّ
أَمِينٍۢ
ﲠ
he is obeyed there and worthy of trust.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:22
وَمَا
صَاحِبُكُم
بِمَجْنُونٍۢ
ﲤ
Your companion is not mad:
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:23
وَلَقَدْ
رَءَاهُ
بِٱلْأُفُقِ
ٱلْمُبِينِ
ﲩ
he did see him on the clear horizon.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:24
وَمَا
هُوَ
عَلَى
ٱلْغَيْبِ
بِضَنِينٍۢ
ﲯ
He does not withhold what is revealed to him from beyond.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:25
وَمَا
هُوَ
بِقَوْلِ
شَيْطَـٰنٍۢ
رَّجِيمٍۢ
ﲵ
This is not the word of an outcast devil.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:26
فَأَيْنَ
تَذْهَبُونَ
ﲸ
So where are you [people] going?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:27
إِنْ
هُوَ
إِلَّا
ذِكْرٌۭ
لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
ﲾ
This is a message for all people;
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:28
لِمَن
شَآءَ
مِنكُمْ
أَن
يَسْتَقِيمَ
ﳄ
for those who wish to take the straight path.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
81:29
وَمَا
تَشَآءُونَ
إِلَّآ
أَن
يَشَآءَ
ٱللَّهُ
رَبُّ
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
ﳍ
But you will only wish to do so by the will of God, the Lord of all people.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
