79:1
وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ
غَرْقًۭا
ﲔ
By the forceful chargers
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:2
وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ
نَشْطًۭا
ﲗ
raring to go,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:3
وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ
سَبْحًۭا
ﲚ
sweeping ahead at full stretch,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:4
فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ
سَبْقًۭا
ﲝ
overtaking swiftly
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:5
فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ
أَمْرًۭا
ﲠ
to bring the matter to an end,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:6
يَوْمَ
تَرْجُفُ
ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ
ﲤ
on the Day when the blast reverberates
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:7
تَتْبَعُهَا
ٱلرَّادِفَةُ
ﲧ
and the second blast follows,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:8
قُلُوبٌۭ
يَوْمَئِذٍۢ
وَاجِفَةٌ
ﲫ
hearts will tremble
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:9
أَبْصَـٰرُهَا
خَـٰشِعَةٌۭ
ﲮ
and eyes will be downcast.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:10
يَقُولُونَ
أَءِنَّا
لَمَرْدُودُونَ
فِى
ٱلْحَافِرَةِ
ﲴ
They say, ‘What? shall we be brought back to life,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:11
أَءِذَا
كُنَّا
عِظَـٰمًۭا
نَّخِرَةًۭ
ﲹ
after we have turned into decayed bones?’ and they say,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:12
قَالُوا۟
تِلْكَ
إِذًۭا
كَرَّةٌ
خَاسِرَةٌۭ
ﲿ
‘Such a return is impossible!’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:13
فَإِنَّمَا
هِىَ
زَجْرَةٌۭ
وَٰحِدَةٌۭ
ﳄ
But all it will take is a single blast,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:14
فَإِذَا
هُم
بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ
ﳈ
and they will be back above ground.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:15
هَلْ
أَتَىٰكَ
حَدِيثُ
مُوسَىٰٓ
ﳍ
Have you [Prophet] heard the story of Moses?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:16
إِذْ
نَادَىٰهُ
رَبُّهُۥ
بِٱلْوَادِ
ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ
طُوًى
ﳔ
His Lord called out to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:17
ٱذْهَبْ
إِلَىٰ
فِرْعَوْنَ
إِنَّهُۥ
طَغَىٰ
ﱆ
‘Go to Pharaoh, for he has exceeded all bounds,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:18
فَقُلْ
هَل
لَّكَ
إِلَىٰٓ
أَن
تَزَكَّىٰ
ﱍ
and ask him, “Do you want to purify yourself [of sin]?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:19
وَأَهْدِيَكَ
إِلَىٰ
رَبِّكَ
فَتَخْشَىٰ
ﱒ
Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you may hold Him in awe?” ’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:20
فَأَرَىٰهُ
ٱلْـَٔايَةَ
ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
ﱖ
Moses showed him the great sign,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:21
فَكَذَّبَ
وَعَصَىٰ
ﱙ
but he denied it and refused [the faith].
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:22
ثُمَّ
أَدْبَرَ
يَسْعَىٰ
ﱝ
He turned away and hastily
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:23
فَحَشَرَ
فَنَادَىٰ
ﱠ
gathered his people, proclaiming,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:24
فَقَالَ
أَنَا۠
رَبُّكُمُ
ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
ﱥ
‘I am your supreme lord,’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:25
فَأَخَذَهُ
ٱللَّهُ
نَكَالَ
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ
ﱫ
so God condemned him to punishment in the life to come as well as in this life:
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:26
إِنَّ
فِى
ذَٰلِكَ
لَعِبْرَةًۭ
لِّمَن
يَخْشَىٰٓ
ﱲ
there truly is a lesson in this for anyone who stands in awe of God.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:27
ءَأَنتُمْ
أَشَدُّ
خَلْقًا
أَمِ
ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ
بَنَىٰهَا
ﱺ
Which is harder to create: you people or the sky that He built,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:28
رَفَعَ
سَمْكَهَا
فَسَوَّىٰهَا
ﱾ
raising it high and perfecting it,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:29
وَأَغْطَشَ
لَيْلَهَا
وَأَخْرَجَ
ضُحَىٰهَا
ﲃ
giving darkness to its night and bringing out its morning brightness,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:30
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
بَعْدَ
ذَٰلِكَ
دَحَىٰهَآ
ﲈ
and the earth, too, He spread out,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:31
أَخْرَجَ
مِنْهَا
مَآءَهَا
وَمَرْعَىٰهَا
ﲍ
bringing waters and pastures out of it,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:32
وَٱلْجِبَالَ
أَرْسَىٰهَا
ﲐ
and setting firm mountains [in it]
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:33
مَتَـٰعًۭا
لَّكُمْ
وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ
ﲔ
for you and your animals to enjoy?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:34
فَإِذَا
جَآءَتِ
ٱلطَّآمَّةُ
ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
ﲙ
When the great overwhelming event arrives
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:35
يَوْمَ
يَتَذَكَّرُ
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ
مَا
سَعَىٰ
ﲟ
on the Day that man remembers what he has done
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:36
وَبُرِّزَتِ
ٱلْجَحِيمُ
لِمَن
يَرَىٰ
ﲤ
and Hell is there for all to see,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:37
فَأَمَّا
مَن
طَغَىٰ
ﲨ
for anyone who has transgressed
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:38
وَءَاثَرَ
ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ
ٱلدُّنْيَا
ﲬ
and preferred the present life
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:39
فَإِنَّ
ٱلْجَحِيمَ
هِىَ
ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
ﲱ
Hell will be home;
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:40
وَأَمَّا
مَنْ
خَافَ
مَقَامَ
رَبِّهِۦ
وَنَهَى
ٱلنَّفْسَ
عَنِ
ٱلْهَوَىٰ
ﲻ
for anyone who feared the meeting with his Lord and restrained himself from base desires,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:41
فَإِنَّ
ٱلْجَنَّةَ
هِىَ
ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
ﳀ
Paradise will be home.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:42
يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ
عَنِ
ٱلسَّاعَةِ
أَيَّانَ
مُرْسَىٰهَا
ﳆ
They ask you [Prophet] about the Hour,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:43
فِيمَ
أَنتَ
مِن
ذِكْرَىٰهَآ
ﳋ
saying, ‘When will it arrive?’, but how can you tell [them that]?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:44
إِلَىٰ
رَبِّكَ
مُنتَهَىٰهَآ
ﳏ
Its time is known only to your Lord;
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:45
إِنَّمَآ
أَنتَ
مُنذِرُ
مَن
يَخْشَىٰهَا
ﳕ
you are only sent to warn those who fear it.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
79:46
كَأَنَّهُمْ
يَوْمَ
يَرَوْنَهَا
لَمْ
يَلْبَثُوٓا۟
إِلَّا
عَشِيَّةً
أَوْ
ضُحَىٰهَا
ﳟ
On the Day they see it, it will seem they lingered [in this life] an evening [at most,] or its morning.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
