84:1
إِذَا
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
ٱنشَقَّتْ
ﱖ
When the sky is ripped apart,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:2
وَأَذِنَتْ
لِرَبِّهَا
وَحُقَّتْ
ﱚ
obeying its Lord as it rightly must,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:3
وَإِذَا
ٱلْأَرْضُ
مُدَّتْ
ﱞ
when the earth is levelled out,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:4
وَأَلْقَتْ
مَا
فِيهَا
وَتَخَلَّتْ
ﱣ
casts out its contents, and becomes empty,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:5
وَأَذِنَتْ
لِرَبِّهَا
وَحُقَّتْ
ﱧ
obeying its Lord as it rightly must,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:6
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ
إِنَّكَ
كَادِحٌ
إِلَىٰ
رَبِّكَ
كَدْحًۭا
فَمُلَـٰقِيهِ
ﱰ
you humans, toiling laboriously towards your Lord, will meet Him:
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:7
فَأَمَّا
مَنْ
أُوتِىَ
كِتَـٰبَهُۥ
بِيَمِينِهِۦ
ﱶ
whoever is given his record in his right hand
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:8
فَسَوْفَ
يُحَاسَبُ
حِسَابًۭا
يَسِيرًۭا
ﱻ
will have an easy reckoning
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:9
وَيَنقَلِبُ
إِلَىٰٓ
أَهْلِهِۦ
مَسْرُورًۭا
ﲀ
and return to his people well pleased,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:10
وَأَمَّا
مَنْ
أُوتِىَ
كِتَـٰبَهُۥ
وَرَآءَ
ظَهْرِهِۦ
ﲇ
but whoever is given his record from behind his back
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:11
فَسَوْفَ
يَدْعُوا۟
ثُبُورًۭا
ﲋ
will cry out for destruction––
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:12
وَيَصْلَىٰ
سَعِيرًا
ﲎ
he will burn in the blazing Fire.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:13
إِنَّهُۥ
كَانَ
فِىٓ
أَهْلِهِۦ
مَسْرُورًا
ﲔ
He used to live among his people well pleased.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:14
إِنَّهُۥ
ظَنَّ
أَن
لَّن
يَحُورَ
ﲚ
He thought he would never return [to his Lord]––
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:15
بَلَىٰٓ
إِنَّ
رَبَّهُۥ
كَانَ
بِهِۦ
بَصِيرًۭا
ﲢ
indeed he will! His Lord was watching him.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:16
فَلَآ
أُقْسِمُ
بِٱلشَّفَقِ
ﲦ
I swear by the glow of sunset,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:17
وَٱلَّيْلِ
وَمَا
وَسَقَ
ﲪ
by the night and what it covers,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:18
وَٱلْقَمَرِ
إِذَا
ٱتَّسَقَ
ﲮ
by the full moon,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:19
لَتَرْكَبُنَّ
طَبَقًا
عَن
طَبَقٍۢ
ﲳ
you will progress from stage to stage.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:20
فَمَا
لَهُمْ
لَا
يُؤْمِنُونَ
ﲸ
So why do they not believe?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:21
وَإِذَا
قُرِئَ
عَلَيْهِمُ
ٱلْقُرْءَانُ
لَا
يَسْجُدُونَ ۩
ﳁ
Why, when the Quran is read to them, do they not prostrate themselves [to God]?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:22
بَلِ
ٱلَّذِينَ
كَفَرُوا۟
يُكَذِّبُونَ
ﳆ
No! The disbelievers reject the Quran––
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:23
وَٱللَّهُ
أَعْلَمُ
بِمَا
يُوعُونَ
ﳋ
God knows best what they keep hidden inside––
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:24
فَبَشِّرْهُم
بِعَذَابٍ
أَلِيمٍ
ﳏ
so give them news of a painful torment.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
84:25
إِلَّا
ٱلَّذِينَ
ءَامَنُوا۟
وَعَمِلُوا۟
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
لَهُمْ
أَجْرٌ
غَيْرُ
مَمْنُونٍۭ
ﱊ
But those who believe and do good deeds will have a never-ending reward.
