44:1
حمٓ
ﱂ
Ha Mim
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
44:2
وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
ٱلْمُبِينِ
ﱅ
By the Scripture that makes things clear,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
44:3
إِنَّآ
أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ
فِى
لَيْلَةٍۢ
مُّبَـٰرَكَةٍ ۚ
إِنَّا
كُنَّا
مُنذِرِينَ
ﱏ
truly We sent it down on a blessed night––We have always sent warnings––

44:4
فِيهَا
يُفْرَقُ
كُلُّ
أَمْرٍ
حَكِيمٍ
ﱕ
a night when every matter of wisdom was made distinct
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
44:5
أَمْرًۭا
مِّنْ
عِندِنَآ ۚ
إِنَّا
كُنَّا
مُرْسِلِينَ
ﱝ
at Our command––We have always sent messages to man––
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
44:6
رَحْمَةًۭ
مِّن
رَّبِّكَ ۚ
إِنَّهُۥ
هُوَ
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
ٱلْعَلِيمُ
ﱦ
as a mercy [Prophet] from your Lord who sees and knows all,

44:7
رَبِّ
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
وَمَا
بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ
إِن
كُنتُم
مُّوقِنِينَ
ﱰ
Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything between––if only you people were firm believers––

44:8
لَآ
إِلَـٰهَ
إِلَّا
هُوَ
يُحْىِۦ
وَيُمِيتُ ۖ
رَبُّكُمْ
وَرَبُّ
ءَابَآئِكُمُ
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
ﱼ
there is no god but Him: He gives life and death––He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers––

44:9
بَلْ
هُمْ
فِى
شَكٍّۢ
يَلْعَبُونَ
ﲂ
yet in [their state of] doubt they take nothing seriously.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
44:10
فَٱرْتَقِبْ
يَوْمَ
تَأْتِى
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
بِدُخَانٍۢ
مُّبِينٍۢ
ﲉ
[Prophet], watch out for the Day when the sky brings forth clouds of smoke for all to see.

44:11
يَغْشَى
ٱلنَّاسَ ۖ
هَـٰذَا
عَذَابٌ
أَلِيمٌۭ
ﲐ
It will envelop the people. They will cry, ‘This is a terrible torment!

44:12
رَّبَّنَا
ٱكْشِفْ
عَنَّا
ٱلْعَذَابَ
إِنَّا
مُؤْمِنُونَ
ﲗ
Lord relieve us from this torment! We believe!’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
44:13
أَنَّىٰ
لَهُمُ
ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ
وَقَدْ
جَآءَهُمْ
رَسُولٌۭ
مُّبِينٌۭ
ﲟ
How will this [sudden] faith benefit them? When a prophet came to warn them plainly,

44:14
ثُمَّ
تَوَلَّوْا۟
عَنْهُ
وَقَالُوا۟
مُعَلَّمٌۭ
مَّجْنُونٌ
ﲦ
they turned their backs on him, saying, ‘He is tutored! He is possessed!’

44:15
إِنَّا
كَاشِفُوا۟
ٱلْعَذَابِ
قَلِيلًا ۚ
إِنَّكُمْ
عَآئِدُونَ
ﲮ
We shall hold the torment back for a while ––you are sure to return [to Us]––

44:16
يَوْمَ
نَبْطِشُ
ٱلْبَطْشَةَ
ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ
إِنَّا
مُنتَقِمُونَ
ﲵ
and on the Day We seize [them] mightily We shall exact retribution.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
44:17
۞ وَلَقَدْ
فَتَنَّا
قَبْلَهُمْ
قَوْمَ
فِرْعَوْنَ
وَجَآءَهُمْ
رَسُولٌۭ
كَرِيمٌ
ﲿ
We tested the people of Pharaoh before them: a noble messenger was sent to them,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
44:18
أَنْ
أَدُّوٓا۟
إِلَىَّ
عِبَادَ
ٱللَّهِ ۖ
إِنِّى
لَكُمْ
رَسُولٌ
أَمِينٌۭ
ﳊ
saying, ‘Hand the servants of God over to me! I am a faithful messenger who has been sent to you.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
44:19
وَأَن
لَّا
تَعْلُوا۟
عَلَى
ٱللَّهِ ۖ
إِنِّىٓ
ءَاتِيكُم
بِسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ
مُّبِينٍۢ
ﱋ
Do not consider yourselves to be above God! I come to you with clear authority.

44:20
وَإِنِّى
عُذْتُ
بِرَبِّى
وَرَبِّكُمْ
أَن
تَرْجُمُونِ
ﱒ
I seek refuge in my Lord and yours against your insults!
