92:1
وَٱلَّيْلِ
إِذَا
يَغْشَىٰ
ﲔ
By the enshrouding night,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:2
وَٱلنَّهَارِ
إِذَا
تَجَلَّىٰ
ﲘ
by the radiant day,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:3
وَمَا
خَلَقَ
ٱلذَّكَرَ
وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
ﲝ
by His creation of male and female!
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:4
إِنَّ
سَعْيَكُمْ
لَشَتَّىٰ
ﲡ
The ways you take differ greatly.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:5
فَأَمَّا
مَنْ
أَعْطَىٰ
وَٱتَّقَىٰ
ﲦ
There is the one who gives, who is mindful of God,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:6
وَصَدَّقَ
بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
ﲩ
who testifies to goodness––
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:7
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ
لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
ﲬ
We shall smooth his way towards ease.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:8
وَأَمَّا
مَنۢ
بَخِلَ
وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ
ﲱ
There is the one who is miserly, who is self-satisfied,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:9
وَكَذَّبَ
بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
ﲴ
who denies goodness––
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:10
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ
لِلْعُسْرَىٰ
ﱃ
We shall smooth his way towards hardship
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:11
وَمَا
يُغْنِى
عَنْهُ
مَالُهُۥٓ
إِذَا
تَرَدَّىٰٓ
ﱊ
and his wealth will not help him as he falls.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:12
إِنَّ
عَلَيْنَا
لَلْهُدَىٰ
ﱎ
Our part is to provide guidance––
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:13
وَإِنَّ
لَنَا
لَلْـَٔاخِرَةَ
وَٱلْأُولَىٰ
ﱓ
this world and the next belong to Us––
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:14
فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ
نَارًۭا
تَلَظَّىٰ
ﱗ
so I warn you about the raging Fire,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:15
لَا
يَصْلَىٰهَآ
إِلَّا
ٱلْأَشْقَى
ﱜ
in which none but the most wicked one will burn,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:16
ٱلَّذِى
كَذَّبَ
وَتَوَلَّىٰ
ﱠ
who denied [the truth], and turned away.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:17
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا
ٱلْأَتْقَى
ﱣ
The most pious one will be spared this––
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:18
ٱلَّذِى
يُؤْتِى
مَالَهُۥ
يَتَزَكَّىٰ
ﱨ
who gives his wealth away as self-purification,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:19
وَمَا
لِأَحَدٍ
عِندَهُۥ
مِن
نِّعْمَةٍۢ
تُجْزَىٰٓ
ﱯ
not to return a favour to anyone
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:20
إِلَّا
ٱبْتِغَآءَ
وَجْهِ
رَبِّهِ
ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
ﱵ
but for the sake of his Lord the Most High––
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
92:21
وَلَسَوْفَ
يَرْضَىٰ
ﱸ
and he will be well pleased.
