37:1
وَٱلصَّـٰٓفَّـٰتِ
صَفًّۭا
ﱃ
By those [angels] ranged in rows,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:2
فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ
زَجْرًۭا
ﱆ
who rebuke reproachfully
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:3
فَٱلتَّـٰلِيَـٰتِ
ذِكْرًا
ﱉ
and recite God’s word,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:4
إِنَّ
إِلَـٰهَكُمْ
لَوَٰحِدٌۭ
ﱍ
truly your God is One,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:5
رَّبُّ
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
وَمَا
بَيْنَهُمَا
وَرَبُّ
ٱلْمَشَـٰرِقِ
ﱕ
Lord of the heavens and earth and everything between them, Lord of every sunrise.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:6
إِنَّا
زَيَّنَّا
ٱلسَّمَآءَ
ٱلدُّنْيَا
بِزِينَةٍ
ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ
ﱜ
We have adorned the lowest heaven with stars,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:7
وَحِفْظًۭا
مِّن
كُلِّ
شَيْطَـٰنٍۢ
مَّارِدٍۢ
ﱢ
and made them a safeguard against every rebellious devil:
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:8
لَّا
يَسَّمَّعُونَ
إِلَى
ٱلْمَلَإِ
ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
وَيُقْذَفُونَ
مِن
كُلِّ
جَانِبٍۢ
ﱬ
they cannot eavesdrop on the Higher Assembly––pelted from every side,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:9
دُحُورًۭا ۖ
وَلَهُمْ
عَذَابٌۭ
وَاصِبٌ
ﱲ
driven away, they will have perpetual torment––
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:10
إِلَّا
مَنْ
خَطِفَ
ٱلْخَطْفَةَ
فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ
شِهَابٌۭ
ثَاقِبٌۭ
ﱺ
if any [of them] stealthily snatches away a fragment, he will be pursued by a piercing flame.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:11
فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ
أَهُمْ
أَشَدُّ
خَلْقًا
أَم
مَّنْ
خَلَقْنَآ ۚ
إِنَّا
خَلَقْنَـٰهُم
مِّن
طِينٍۢ
لَّازِبٍۭ
ﲈ
So [Prophet], ask the disbelievers: is it harder to create them than other beings We have created? We created them from sticky clay.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:12
بَلْ
عَجِبْتَ
وَيَسْخَرُونَ
ﲌ
You marvel as they scoff,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:13
وَإِذَا
ذُكِّرُوا۟
لَا
يَذْكُرُونَ
ﲑ
take no heed when they are warned,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:14
وَإِذَا
رَأَوْا۟
ءَايَةًۭ
يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ
ﲖ
and resort to ridicule when they see a sign,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:15
وَقَالُوٓا۟
إِنْ
هَـٰذَآ
إِلَّا
سِحْرٌۭ
مُّبِينٌ
ﲝ
saying, ‘This is no more than blatant sorcery.’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:16
أَءِذَا
مِتْنَا
وَكُنَّا
تُرَابًۭا
وَعِظَـٰمًا
أَءِنَّا
لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
ﲥ
‘What! After we have died and become dust and bones, shall we really be raised up again,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:17
أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا
ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
ﲨ
along with our forefathers?’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:18
قُلْ
نَعَمْ
وَأَنتُمْ
دَٰخِرُونَ
ﲭ
Say, ‘Yes indeed, and you will be humiliated.’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:19
فَإِنَّمَا
هِىَ
زَجْرَةٌۭ
وَٰحِدَةٌۭ
فَإِذَا
هُمْ
يَنظُرُونَ
ﲵ
Just one blast and––lo and behold!––they will look
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
37:20
وَقَالُوا۟
يَـٰوَيْلَنَا
هَـٰذَا
يَوْمُ
ٱلدِّينِ
ﲻ
and say, ‘Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgement.’
