الٓمٓصٓ
ﱂ
Alif Lam Mim Sad
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
7:2
كِتَـٰبٌ
أُنزِلَ
إِلَيْكَ
فَلَا
يَكُن
فِى
صَدْرِكَ
حَرَجٌۭ
مِّنْهُ
لِتُنذِرَ
بِهِۦ
وَذِكْرَىٰ
لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
ﱐ
This Book has been sent down to you [Prophet]––let there be no anxiety in your heart because of it––so that you may use it to give warning and to remind the believers:
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
7:3
ٱتَّبِعُوا۟
مَآ
أُنزِلَ
إِلَيْكُم
مِّن
رَّبِّكُمْ
وَلَا
تَتَّبِعُوا۟
مِن
دُونِهِۦٓ
أَوْلِيَآءَ ۗ
قَلِيلًۭا
مَّا
تَذَكَّرُونَ
ﱠ
‘Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord; do not follow other masters beside Him. How seldom you take heed!’

7:4
وَكَم
مِّن
قَرْيَةٍ
أَهْلَكْنَـٰهَا
فَجَآءَهَا
بَأْسُنَا
بَيَـٰتًا
أَوْ
هُمْ
قَآئِلُونَ
ﱫ
How many towns We have destroyed! Our punishment came to them by night or while they slept in the afternoon:
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
7:5
فَمَا
كَانَ
دَعْوَىٰهُمْ
إِذْ
جَآءَهُم
بَأْسُنَآ
إِلَّآ
أَن
قَالُوٓا۟
إِنَّا
كُنَّا
ظَـٰلِمِينَ
ﱸ
their only cry when Our punishment came to them was, ‘How wrong we were!’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
7:6
فَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّ
ٱلَّذِينَ
أُرْسِلَ
إِلَيْهِمْ
وَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّ
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
ﱿ
We shall certainly question those to whom messengers were sent–– and We shall question the messengers themselves––

7:7
فَلَنَقُصَّنَّ
عَلَيْهِم
بِعِلْمٍۢ ۖ
وَمَا
كُنَّا
غَآئِبِينَ
ﲇ
and, with full knowledge, for We were never far from them, We shall tell them what they did.

7:8
وَٱلْوَزْنُ
يَوْمَئِذٍ
ٱلْحَقُّ ۚ
فَمَن
ثَقُلَتْ
مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ
فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
هُمُ
ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
ﲒ
On that Day the weighing of deeds will be true and just: those whose good deeds are heavy on the scales will be the ones to prosper,

7:9
وَمَنْ
خَفَّتْ
مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ
فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ٱلَّذِينَ
خَسِرُوٓا۟
أَنفُسَهُم
بِمَا
كَانُوا۟
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا
يَظْلِمُونَ
ﲞ
and those whose good deeds are light will be the ones who have lost their souls through their wrongful rejection of Our messages.

7:10
وَلَقَدْ
مَكَّنَّـٰكُمْ
فِى
ٱلْأَرْضِ
وَجَعَلْنَا
لَكُمْ
فِيهَا
مَعَـٰيِشَ ۗ
قَلِيلًۭا
مَّا
تَشْكُرُونَ
ﲫ
We established you [people] on the earth and provided you with a means of livelihood there––small thanks you give!

7:11
وَلَقَدْ
خَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ
ثُمَّ
صَوَّرْنَـٰكُمْ
ثُمَّ
قُلْنَا
لِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ
ٱسْجُدُوا۟
لِـَٔادَمَ
فَسَجَدُوٓا۟
إِلَّآ
إِبْلِيسَ
لَمْ
يَكُن
مِّنَ
ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
ﲼ
We created you, We gave you shape, and then We said to the angels, ‘Bow down before Adam,’ and they did. But not Iblis: he was not one of those who bowed down.

7:12
قَالَ
مَا
مَنَعَكَ
أَلَّا
تَسْجُدَ
إِذْ
أَمَرْتُكَ ۖ
قَالَ
أَنَا۠
خَيْرٌۭ
مِّنْهُ
خَلَقْتَنِى
مِن
نَّارٍۢ
وَخَلَقْتَهُۥ
مِن
طِينٍۢ
ﱓ
God said, ‘What prevented you from bowing down as I commanded you?’ and he said, ‘I am better than him: You created me from fire and him from clay.’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
7:13
قَالَ
فَٱهْبِطْ
مِنْهَا
فَمَا
يَكُونُ
لَكَ
أَن
تَتَكَبَّرَ
فِيهَا
فَٱخْرُجْ
إِنَّكَ
مِنَ
ٱلصَّـٰغِرِينَ
ﱡ
God said, ‘Get down from here! This is no place for your arrogance. Get out! You are contemptible!’

7:14
قَالَ
أَنظِرْنِىٓ
إِلَىٰ
يَوْمِ
يُبْعَثُونَ
ﱧ
but Iblis said, ‘Give me respite until the Day people are raised from the dead,’

7:15
قَالَ
إِنَّكَ
مِنَ
ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ
ﱬ
and God replied, ‘You have respite.’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
7:16
قَالَ
فَبِمَآ
أَغْوَيْتَنِى
لَأَقْعُدَنَّ
لَهُمْ
صِرَٰطَكَ
ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
ﱴ
And then Iblis said, ‘Because You have put me in the wrong, I will lie in wait for them all on Your straight path:

7:17
ثُمَّ
لَـَٔاتِيَنَّهُم
مِّنۢ
بَيْنِ
أَيْدِيهِمْ
وَمِنْ
خَلْفِهِمْ
وَعَنْ
أَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ
وَعَن
شَمَآئِلِهِمْ ۖ
وَلَا
تَجِدُ
أَكْثَرَهُمْ
شَـٰكِرِينَ
ﲅ
I will come at them- from their front and their back, from their right and their left- and You will find that most of them are ungrateful.’

7:18
قَالَ
ٱخْرُجْ
مِنْهَا
مَذْءُومًۭا
مَّدْحُورًۭا ۖ
لَّمَن
تَبِعَكَ
مِنْهُمْ
لَأَمْلَأَنَّ
جَهَنَّمَ
مِنكُمْ
أَجْمَعِينَ
ﲓ
God said, ‘Get out! You are disgraced and banished! I swear I shall fill Hell with you and all who follow you!

7:19
وَيَـٰٓـَٔادَمُ
ٱسْكُنْ
أَنتَ
وَزَوْجُكَ
ٱلْجَنَّةَ
فَكُلَا
مِنْ
حَيْثُ
شِئْتُمَا
وَلَا
تَقْرَبَا
هَـٰذِهِ
ٱلشَّجَرَةَ
فَتَكُونَا
مِنَ
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
ﲤ
But you and your wife, Adam, live in the Garden. Both of you eat whatever you like, but do not go near this tree or you will become wrongdoers.’

7:20
فَوَسْوَسَ
لَهُمَا
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ
لِيُبْدِىَ
لَهُمَا
مَا
وُۥرِىَ
عَنْهُمَا
مِن
سَوْءَٰتِهِمَا
وَقَالَ
مَا
نَهَىٰكُمَا
رَبُّكُمَا
عَنْ
هَـٰذِهِ
ٱلشَّجَرَةِ
إِلَّآ
أَن
تَكُونَا
مَلَكَيْنِ
أَوْ
تَكُونَا
مِنَ
ٱلْخَـٰلِدِينَ
ﲾ
Satan whispered to them so as to expose their nakedness, which had been hidden from them: he said, ‘Your Lord only forbade you this tree to prevent you becoming angels or immortals,’
