36:1
يسٓ
ﱝ
Ya Sin
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
36:2
وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ
ٱلْحَكِيمِ
ﱠ
By the wise Quran,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
36:3
إِنَّكَ
لَمِنَ
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
ﱤ
you [Muhammad] are truly one of the mes-sengers sent
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
36:4
عَلَىٰ
صِرَٰطٍۢ
مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ
ﱨ
on a straight path,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
36:5
تَنزِيلَ
ٱلْعَزِيزِ
ٱلرَّحِيمِ
ﱬ
with a revelation from the Almighty, the Lord of Mercy,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
36:6
لِتُنذِرَ
قَوْمًۭا
مَّآ
أُنذِرَ
ءَابَآؤُهُمْ
فَهُمْ
غَـٰفِلُونَ
ﱴ
to warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, and so they are unaware.

36:7
لَقَدْ
حَقَّ
ٱلْقَوْلُ
عَلَىٰٓ
أَكْثَرِهِمْ
فَهُمْ
لَا
يُؤْمِنُونَ
ﱽ
The verdict has been passed against most of them, for they refuse to believe.

36:8
إِنَّا
جَعَلْنَا
فِىٓ
أَعْنَـٰقِهِمْ
أَغْلَـٰلًۭا
فَهِىَ
إِلَى
ٱلْأَذْقَانِ
فَهُم
مُّقْمَحُونَ
ﲈ
[It is as if] We had placed [iron] collars around their necks, right up to their chins so that their heads are forced up
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
36:9
وَجَعَلْنَا
مِنۢ
بَيْنِ
أَيْدِيهِمْ
سَدًّۭا
وَمِنْ
خَلْفِهِمْ
سَدًّۭا
فَأَغْشَيْنَـٰهُمْ
فَهُمْ
لَا
يُبْصِرُونَ
ﲕ
and set barriers before and behind them, blocking their vision: they cannot see.

36:10
وَسَوَآءٌ
عَلَيْهِمْ
ءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ
أَمْ
لَمْ
تُنذِرْهُمْ
لَا
يُؤْمِنُونَ
ﲞ
It is all the same to them whether you warn them or not: they will not believe.

36:11
إِنَّمَا
تُنذِرُ
مَنِ
ٱتَّبَعَ
ٱلذِّكْرَ
وَخَشِىَ
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنَ
بِٱلْغَيْبِ ۖ
فَبَشِّرْهُ
بِمَغْفِرَةٍۢ
وَأَجْرٍۢ
كَرِيمٍ
ﲬ
You can warn only those who will follow the Quran and hold the Merciful One in awe, though they cannot see Him: give such people the glad news of forgiveness and a noble reward.

36:12
إِنَّا
نَحْنُ
نُحْىِ
ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
وَنَكْتُبُ
مَا
قَدَّمُوا۟
وَءَاثَـٰرَهُمْ ۚ
وَكُلَّ
شَىْءٍ
أَحْصَيْنَـٰهُ
فِىٓ
إِمَامٍۢ
مُّبِينٍۢ
ﲼ
We shall certainly bring the dead back to life, and We record what they send ahead of them as well as what they leave behind: We keep an account of everything in a clear Record.

36:13
وَٱضْرِبْ
لَهُم
مَّثَلًا
أَصْحَـٰبَ
ٱلْقَرْيَةِ
إِذْ
جَآءَهَا
ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
ﱉ
Give them the example of the people to whose town messengers came.

36:14
إِذْ
أَرْسَلْنَآ
إِلَيْهِمُ
ٱثْنَيْنِ
فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا
فَعَزَّزْنَا
بِثَالِثٍۢ
فَقَالُوٓا۟
إِنَّآ
إِلَيْكُم
مُّرْسَلُونَ
ﱕ
We sent two messengers but they rejected both. Then We reinforced them with a third. They said, ‘Truly, we are messengers to you,’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
36:15
قَالُوا۟
مَآ
أَنتُمْ
إِلَّا
بَشَرٌۭ
مِّثْلُنَا
وَمَآ
أَنزَلَ
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ
مِن
شَىْءٍ
إِنْ
أَنتُمْ
إِلَّا
تَكْذِبُونَ
ﱥ
but they answered, ‘You are only men like ourselves. The Lord of Mercy has sent nothing; you are just lying.'
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
36:16
قَالُوا۟
رَبُّنَا
يَعْلَمُ
إِنَّآ
إِلَيْكُمْ
لَمُرْسَلُونَ
ﱬ
They said, ‘Our Lord knows that we have been sent to you.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
36:17
وَمَا
عَلَيْنَآ
إِلَّا
ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ
ٱلْمُبِينُ
ﱲ
Our duty is only to deliver the message to you,’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
36:18
قَالُوٓا۟
إِنَّا
تَطَيَّرْنَا
بِكُمْ ۖ
لَئِن
لَّمْ
تَنتَهُوا۟
لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ
وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم
مِّنَّا
عَذَابٌ
أَلِيمٌۭ
ﲀ
but they answered, ‘We think you are an evil omen. If you do not stop, we shall stone you, and inflict a painful torment on you.’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
36:19
قَالُوا۟
طَـٰٓئِرُكُم
مَّعَكُمْ ۚ
أَئِن
ذُكِّرْتُم ۚ
بَلْ
أَنتُمْ
قَوْمٌۭ
مُّسْرِفُونَ
ﲋ
The messengers said, ‘The evil omen is within yourselves. Why do you take it as an evil omen when you are reminded of the Truth? You are going too far!’

36:20
وَجَآءَ
مِنْ
أَقْصَا
ٱلْمَدِينَةِ
رَجُلٌۭ
يَسْعَىٰ
قَالَ
يَـٰقَوْمِ
ٱتَّبِعُوا۟
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
ﲖ
Then, from the furthest part of the city, a man came running. He said, ‘My people, follow the messengers.
